So the story of Motivating Mum began for me when my children were at primary school in 2010. I had a part time business in the evening but I wanted to find something I could do during the daytime as I did not want to go back to full time work.
I came across an advert online from a mum who was selling her business and moving back to Australia. at that time, Motivating Mum was a mums business networking group with a blog attached. I had no idea how to blog or do social media , but I thought it sounded fun, so I bought the business, and a couple of weeks later, my friend was gone, leaving me to fend for myself.
And so began a love affair with blogging and social media, which has taken me to all sorts of wonderful places and became a job all on its own. In 2012 I bought another blog, Mum’s the Boss, and I ran them in tandem until 2016, when I merged the two blogs under the Mum’s the Boss brand.
But now, in 2023, my youngest is about to leave for university, and i feel like another challenge. So I have decided to reboot Motivating Mum as a brand. I’ve got some good ideas for it and I want to it to be a bit different from Mum’s the Boss.
